How it Operates
The Blumat-Tropf dripper system mainly consists of drip tubing and valve-based sensors. Shaped like carrots, the sensors are simply pressed into the soil alongside your plants. Arrange the drip tubing around the plants so that the roots receive the moisture. Connect the system to a rain barrel or garden spigot.
As the soil dries, the sensor notes the moisture change in the ground. It automatically releases a valve, which forces water into the tubing and waters the plants. Conversely, the sensors note when the soil reaches saturation. In response, the valves close off the water supply.
